Scientists have determined the maximum temperature suitable for human life

British biologists have studied the changes in metabolism in humans under high temperature and humidity. They discovered that constant heat at 40°C leads to a rapid acceleration of metabolism.

"Much research has been dedicated to studying the optimal temperature range for different animal species, but very little is known about the upper limits of the human neutral temperature zone," scientists explained.

They conducted a series of experiments, subjecting volunteers to conditions that are likely to occur in the hottest regions on Earth in the coming decades. Various indicators of the body's functioning were measured.

The observations indicated that the volunteers' metabolic rate significantly increased when the temperature in the lab exceeded 40°C. This occurred both in low and high humidity conditions.
