iPhone 4 price gauging begins!

Let’s be honest people when the iPhone 4 finally released we expected for the super trendy device to fly off the shelves of every single store. What is also expected is the hustling that will go on from people purchasing the phone going through the whole activation process with AT&T only to sell it on Ebay or Craigslist. Why? for those of you asking it’s simple, buy a 32gb iPhone for $300 + activation + tax + early termination– equaling somewhere above $600. Then in turn sell it for a ridiculous $900 to $1000 to make a profit of atleast $300.

But their are some of those even daring to sell the phone for $1500! Who will pay that much is beyond me but the people selling it for that price must believe their is a enormous demand for those outside of AT&T (mainly T-Mobile customers) to purchase this phone. Boy, you know technology has come far when you can sell a phone for the same price of a really decent used car.

Has the Nexus “Won”?

Though the sales weren’t on par with the iPhone, Google’s Nexus One has indeed stolen some of Apple’s shine. Even the reader polls on the tech/social media site, Mashable show a reader poll in which the Nexus one ANNIHILATES the iPhone. I even caught myself drooling over the un-boxing videos on youtube and feeling a certain wanting of the Nexus One. Though the phone isn’t ground-breaking  but it perfects a lot of the issues with the iPhone (superior camera,  multiple apps can run simultaneously via Android, for starters) and is a more than worthy opponent. The only draw back is the subsidized version is only available on T-Mobile (though you cannot purchase directly on their site, only on google’s site). The 3G coverage and signal in the areas where I reside, work and play is mediocre at best. Sure, AT&T’s coverage is spotty but that is due to the high data usage via it’s iPhone users. As they work to expand their network, it’ll improve, I’m sure. Continuing on, to purchase the phone it’s a ridiculous $530 (USD)! Perhaps these 2 reasons were a deterrent for more people from purchasing it? It’s possible, but the phone is getting more digital ink spilled than the iPhone at this point (not to compete with the rumors about the Apple Tablet, that would be impossible lol). To answer the question, Has the Nexus “Won”?…maybe the first few battles but we shall see if it wins the war.
