BlackBerry 9360 Curve, 9860 Touch Torch, 9900 Bold and 9810 Torch have software update issues

There are some issues going on with BlackBerry version 7 devices such as the 9360 Curve, 9860 Touch Torch, 9900 Bold and the 9810 Torch. These phones are experiencing issues with Device Care and Network platforms pinging and communicating directly to the handset.

In simple terms, the BlackBerry network is having a hard time sending important messages to the Phone APN on the devices listed above, and this could result in delayed or failed Firmware updates to your phone. It’s unclear what has caused the issue, but RIM has assured that customers can still use their phones.

The company is encouraging users who are experiencing these issues to continue trying to push updates through, “As some will still process successfully.” Keep in mind, these are BlackBerry version 7 devices in the U.S. only. A fix will be zapped to these troubled BlackBerry’s on April 19.
