I always wanted to know who was the designer behind The Cool Kids Bake Sale album cover, well now I do. Kimou Meyer who goes by Grotesk, is a Swiss designer who moved to NYC in 1999 to work for a European design agency which he still works for til’ this day. He’s behind a lot of these innovative looking designs and characters that put me in the style and mind frame of a throw back artist who draws up cartoons for a living– kind of like the Pink Panther characters but with an urban flare to it (notice the similarities) maybe it’s just me.

Pink Panther Character

A Grotesk Design

You must say for a guy who came to this country a little over ten years ago who’s previous focus had been the design of minimalist catalogs, logos and branding systems has definitely found his overall calling in creating tee shirts, skateboards and silk screens for his friends and customers $$$.
