Reminiscing The Chinese Slipper Phenomenon

Don’t front, remember these? Well, for those of you out there who’ve owned a pair (regretfully), I have a question of where the hell did these come from?! I just never understood how these slippers became the style sense of the time, I mean I don’t recall ever seeing a commercial on TV of woman rocking Chinese slippers. I still hear the haunting sounds of feet scuffling down the street, with visuals of soggy white sweat socks and pajama pant bottoms (pretty standard style here in Hartford, CT at the time).

But sadly enough, these slippers are sneaky, and seem to have some weird staying power that I can’t explain, I thought these were dead but people are still rocking them and this is why they’ve made The Trendaholic’s dead but won’t go away category. So, tell me out there do you still have a pair of these and where do you hide them? Remember keep it 100. Don’t be ashamed nobody will think less of you, I promise ;-)

I love these slippers. My mom sent them several times as a gift for me. She bought them in a chinese store in Bonaire, but they are not available anymore. I live in Holland and would like to get some of these slippers. Can someone tell me where I can buy them?
