[Official] WordPress Finally Meets Android

For those of you out there who operate on Android (like myself) know that the Google mobile OS is making up tremendous ground so fast. But don’t worry iPhone fan boys, Apple is still leaps and bounds ahead of Android when it comes to applications. Now, this app officially released on February 2nd and of course I’m not the first to announce this but I felt I would write about my experience (so far) using this app since the launch.

Since I’ve downloaded it I haven’t had any problems with the app, no force closes nor any slow lag time encountered on my MyTouch 3G (I know I know it’s not the speediest device). I must say I enjoy the fact that it’s so much more user friendly, I enjoy the simple but affective UI. What I like is the ability to be able to moderate new comments, edit posts, and view pages.

I know some of you out there say WordPress To Go does similar things but since the launch of this WordPress for Android, WP To Go will be discontinued according to it’s developer. Turns out the developer for WP To Go has been working with the developers of this new app for months. You know this is a better app if the developer of Word Press To Go says this one is more “snazzier”.

Here’s a cool walk through video on Phandroid.
