Paris has a new urban development plan that prohibits the construction of buildings above 12 storeys or 37 metres. This is to promote eco-friendly and sustainable construction and maintain architectural harmony with existing structures. This is not the first time that Paris has faced such a situation, as it had previously banned high-rise buildings between 1977 and 2010 following the construction of the Montparnasse Tower. However, the ban was lifted by former mayor Bertrand Delanoë who set new limits for building heights.

The controversy surrounding the construction of the Triangle Tower has once again led to the reintroduction of the high-rise ban. Nonetheless, Paris still maintains its Old World charm, with skyscraper enthusiasts free to visit the business district of La Défense.
